Aromatherapy refers to the use of essential oils extracted from herbs, trees and plants for therapeutic purposes.
While aromatherapy has been practiced for thousands of years by many ancient civilizations (Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman) the official term wasn't coined until 1928. The French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse first used it after noticing the curative effects of essential oils during his work treating the wounded in World War I.
What are medicinal grade essences (or essential oils as they are often referred to)?
Essences are the lifeblood of the plants and trees where the immune system and nutrients are stored. They nourish the plant and naturally provide protection from things like bacterial, viral & microbial infection. During the process of distillation these highly concentrated essences are released and the product that is left is the plant’s essence. This powerful substance offers the same healing, medicinal properties that it did to the plant. Medicinal Aromatherapy is the practice of administering these pure essential essences (oils) for therapeutic purposes.
How are they administered?
There are many ways to experience the essences; they can be applied topically to the skin, inhaled through the olfactory nerves (nasal passages), or taken orally. It is important to consult with a trained aromatherapist to decide what is best for you and your healing process.
How will this benefit me?
Our human DNA is closely related to that of the plant and tree kingdom and therefore our bodies easily recognize the healing power of the essences and will allow them to work in a harmonious way. This is not often the case with modern day pharmaceuticals.
How are medicinal grade essences different from other essential oils? Are they the same?
Purity is the key factor and not the case with all essential oils. Essences, such as from WISDOM OF THE EARTH, are 100% pure and natural unadulterated essence with nothing added and nothing taken away. (No additives or blends) They come from bio-dynamic or organically farmed lands or grow wild and are hand-distilled and hand-poured. They carry very high vibratory frequency and are still very much “alive” inside the bottle!
Who can benefit from aromatherapy? What conditions can be helped?
Because is safe and gentle anyone can benefit. Any condition that exists in nature can be helped by it.

Ashiatsu massage is a barefoot massage technique where the therapists uses their feet to provide deep broad massage strokes. Parallel bars are used above the table, providing the therapist with balance and support. Ashiatsu provides a deep massage that can improve circulation and release tight muscles all while being extremely relaxing.
Bamboo massage uses warmed bamboo sticks as an extension of the therapists hands. With the heated bamboo sticks paired with the therapists pressure, this modality provides a deep yet relaxing session.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.
Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.
Deep Tissue massage releases muscles and tendons to increase flexibility and promote muscle recovery. Deep tissue massage uses moderate to deep pressure. Techniques can include the same techniques as a Swedish massage, as well as some deeper strokes and stretches to break up scar tissue and adhesions, and increase better range of motion in joints.

Hot Stone Massage uses heated stones as an extension of the therapist's hands. The heat expands the blood vessels and increases lymphatic drainage, releasing toxins from muscles and organs. This is a deeply relaxing massage. Hot Stone Massage melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness, increases circulation and boosts metabolism. Each hot stone session features the placement of smooth, heated stones at key points on the body to initiate a deeper relaxation of the soft tissue. Our licensed professionals then incorporate a customized massage with hot stones in hand to create a healing, relaxing and detoxifying experience.
What is Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)?
Manual Lymph Drainage is a gentle form of massage that encourages the natural drainage of the lymph system. This modality aims at clearing any blocked lymph* and to increase the natural flow of lymphatic system; which serves as a self-purification system that helps the connective tissue in our body to move waste from the tissues and back toward the heart where it is then released from the body.
During a Manual Lymph Drainage session, your massage therapist will work on the lymph system with an intentionally light touch to aid in the unblocking and increasing of lymph flow. The pressure is extremely light so it will not impede the lymph flow in anyway.
It is recommended that everyone receive MLD four times a year for optimum health however, many medical issues may require more frequent sessions, dependent on the severity of the issue. Conditions for which MLD can be indicated:
*Lymph fact: Your heat beats 60-100 pulses per minute; while your lymph moves at 10-12 pulses per minute. During an MLD session, the lymph flow rate increases 10 times the average rate helping the system rid the toxins out of the body!
A deep targeted 30 minute treatment session that focuses specifically on the tight muscles that tend to contribute to chronic headaches and migraines. This session will include trigger point work and stretches of the neck.
What are the benefits of pre-natal (pregnancy) and post-natal massage?
Pre-natal massage can help to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. It is extremely helpful to receive this type of therapy for natural relief of these symptoms as the use of medication is limited. Besides the numerous physical benefits, receiving massage during pregnancy can also help alleviate anxiety and depression and adds to sense of well-being for both mother and baby.
Post-natal massage is helpful for new moms recovering from the effects of childbirth and provides support by helping to alleviate stress associated with caring for a newborn infant. This type of massage is also helpful in relieving physical symptoms, especially for those nursing and abstaining from medications.
Reflexology is based on a theory that certain specific points on your hands and feet are connected to certain organs and systems of the body. In a reflexology session, your practitioner will apply pressure to your hands and feet bringing a relaxing and healing sensation to the corresponding areas of the body and promoting a sense of well being.
Energy work (i.e Reiki, Transformational Energy Healing etc.) can help release blocks that have formed in the body (often unconsciously) through mental and emotional trauma. It can also be just a great way to completely relax and "let go" of that which no longer serves your highest good.
This gentle form of bodywork is simple, yet profound, and can help create great shifts for people that have been "stuck" in pain for a long time, or haven't been able to achieve results through standard bodywork and massage and alone. Consider adding a Reiki session to your self-care routine and experience for yourself the power of this gentle but effective healing modality.

What will the session involve? Thai massage is performed on a mat with the receiver wearing loose comfortable clothes. No oils or lotions are used. A Thai session typically involves rhythmic pressing and stretching of the body and may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking knuckles and moving the recipient’s body into many different postures.
Who should receive Thai massage and what are the benefits? Thai massage can be varied to suit a wide range of physical needs and is appropriate for clients of all ages and levels of flexibility. Thai massage may promote a sense of well-being, deep relaxation, increase circulation and increase range of motion.
